  • The latest batch of player-submitted stories about experiences in World of Warcraft is now up. The theme this month is the intersection of military life and World of Warcraft -- check out the two new entries.

  • A recent vulnerability has been discovered in popular web-content delivery program Adobe Flash, and it could potentially be used to target World of Warcraft players and accounts. The newest available version of Adobe Flash, version 9.0.124.0, does not contain this vulnerability, and we recommend that everyone upgrade their Flash player as soon as possible by visiting the Adobe.com download page at the link below.

    In addition, to avoid exploitation of this vulnerability, we have temporarily disabled the ability to post hyperlinks in our forums. Any links will need to be copied and pasted into a browser.   • We have big news for everyone looking forward to the 2008 Blizzard Entertainment Worldwide Invitational in June. Additional tickets are going on sale, attendees will be able to enjoy two live concerts during the closing ceremony and a renowned comic book artist will be on hand to sign his work. Read on:
    • Additional ticket sales for the Blizzard Worldwide Invitational will begin tomorrow, Thursday, May 29th, at 6:00 AM Pacific Time. If you haven’t yet purchased tickets for the event, follow the "Ticket Sales" link on the official Blizzard Worldwide Invitational website at that time. There will only be a limited number of additional tickets available, so don’t delay in buying yours if you plan to attend.

    • The renowned video game music orchestra, Video Games Live, and Blizzard Entertainment’s own in-house band, Level 70 Elite Tauren Chieftain, have announced that they’ll be performing live on stage during the closing ceremony on Sunday, June 29th.

    • For those following the World of Warcraft comic series, designer and artist Ludovic Lullabi will be present for signings at the booth of the French World of Warcraft comic publisher, Soleil.
    This year’s Blizzard Worldwide Invitational will be held here in Europe, at the Porte de Versailles Exposition Centre in Paris, France, on the 28th and 29th of June. Both days of the event will feature a variety of activities including hands-on play with the latest versions of Blizzard Entertainment games, developer discussions and presentations, competitive and casual tournaments, contests, and more.

    Tickets are priced at €70 / £55 for the two-day event and can be purchased by credit or debit card. The Blizzard Worldwide Invitational is open to attendees of ages 4 years and above. Please note that any attendee of 16 years or below must be accompanied by a consenting parent, guardian or responsible adult of 18 years or above to attend.

  • We're pleased to announce that additional tickets for the 2008 Blizzard Entertainment Worldwide Invitational will be available on the Worldwide Invitational website next week.

    This year's Worldwide Invitational will be held in Europe, at the Porte de Versailles Exposition Centre in Paris, France, on the 28th and 29th of June. Both days of the event will feature a variety of activities including hands-on play with the latest versions of World of Warcraft: Wrath of the Lich King and StarCraft II, the chance to meet Blizzard executives and developers in discussion panels and signing sessions, participate in community tournaments and dance, costume, and machinima contests, watch top eSports competitors from around the world play in exciting invitational tournaments and much more! Tickets are priced at ¤70 / £55 for the two-day event and can be purchased by credit or debit card.

  • The Championship Gaming Series (CGS) has announced its second annual World of Warcraft Arena Tournament. The top 1,000 3-vs.-3 Arena teams from North America and Europe will be invited to participate in an open-ladder competition running June 9 to June 22. The top two teams from each region will compete in a live final in Los Angeles, California for a top prize of $25,000. For more information, please check the FAQ.   • In the Major League Gaming (MLG) 2008 PC Circuit, 32 teams will compete in World of Warcraft Arena battles for over $20,000 in prizes at each event. The first event will be in San Diego during the weekend of June 13-15, 2008 and will be streamed live on GotFrag TV.     Starting May 7, 2008, Epic Weapons and Blizzard Entertainment will be looking for the best original pieces of artwork that show the Lich King Arthas Menethil wielding his trusted runeblade Frostmourne and the Grand Prize Winner will receive a full sized 47" long replica of the Frostmourne sword courtesy of Epic Weapons and a guaranteed entry into the beta test of Wrath of the Lich King! Two runner up winners will also be selected for entry into the upcoming Wrath of the Lich King beta test.

  • Registration for the 2008 World of Warcraft Arena Tournament's first qualification round is now closed and Phase 3 of the tournament has begun. Participants have been battling it out on the tournament realms for the past two weeks while fine-tuning their team composition and strategies. Phase 3 of the tournament includes a lockdown of the teams that will be jockeying for position to compete in the regional finals.
