A: Recruiters must have active game time to start the recruiting process. Recruits with new accounts must have a WoW account no older than seven days.

A: Yes. You can recruit friends with an existing WoW account that has not had active game time in the past 24 months.

A: Yes. You may recruit up to 4 friends each month and up to 10 simultaneous recruits in total. Each recruit can help you secure rewards more quickly from the program.

A: Yes. Your recruit(s) can have recruits of their own, but they cannot recruit you. Game time your recruit receives as a Recruit A Friend reward will not count towards your own RAF reward progression.

A: Log in to WoW and generate an invite link through the Recruit A Friend tab of the social pane (default hotkey “O”), then send that link to your friends. Up to four friends can use it to link their accounts to yours. To recruit more friends, you'll need to generate a new link, a process that can only be done once every 30 days.

A: The Recruit A Friend interface isn’t available in the WoW Classic game client. You’ll need to generate invitation links from the World of Warcraft game client instead.

A: When your friends open the link, they'll be able to create a new WoW account—or log in to an existing one, if eligible. From there, their account will be connected to your WoW account.

A: Once your friend accepts the invitation and your accounts are linked, you'll be able to see your friend's BattleTag, online status, and subscription status from the Recruit A Friend interface in-game.

A: If you're having issues with linked accounts, this could be because realms were temporarily unavailable (such as during the scheduled maintenance periods) or some other issue. Refer to the Support Article for more information and help troubleshooting.

A: Each time your recruits add game time to their accounts, you'll secure rewards that will be doled out over time based on how many months of game time they added.

A: You’ll receive your first reward when your friend adds at least 30 days of game time to their account. If your friend adds more than 30 days of game time (for example, by purchasing a 3- or 6-month recurring subscription), rewards beyond the first will be granted at a rate of one per month, based on the date your recruit added game time to their account. Note that it may take up to 72 hours to process rewards. In some regions, the processing time may take up to eight days. See the Support Article for more information.

A: Purchasing a WoW subscription, using a WoW Token, or getting game time as part of a bundle all count as adding active game time to an account. Game time added to an account through special promotions do not apply or count towards Recruit A Friend rewards. Refer to the Support Article for full details.

A: Yes. As long as your recruits add game time to their accounts, you’ll be rewarded, regardless of whether they choose to play World of Warcraft or WoW Classic.

A: No. Recruit A Friend rewards are not accessible in WoW Classic. Except for game time, rewards earned will only be useable in World of Warcraft.

A: You and your friend will receive the ability to summon each other when in a party together. Recruits who complete the Exile’s Reach starting experience on new characters after October 13, 2020 will receive an Extra Spacious Knapsack, a 30 slot bag. Certain in-game activities will also reward you additional in-game items and currency if you participate with your recruited friends. A: No. The previous program has expired and its rewards can no longer be redeemed.

A: No. You can only recruit friends in the same game region as you. For example, if you play on the European realms, you can only recruit friends who also play in the Europe region.

A: Yes. However, recruiters in some countries can only recruit friends from their own country. Read our Support Article for more information.

A: Friends who receive your recruitment link will be informed of your realm and faction, but they can still choose to play a different faction. You’ll only be able to earn the rewards (as the recruiter) or the benefits (as the recruit) from playing together if you both play the same faction.
